Facebook It! Palace Theatre/Lockport NY

Our friends at the LOCKPORT PALACE THEATRE cordially invite all THS members to “Like” their Facebook page.

A former Schine Theater, the Palace has stood the test of time.  And the citizens of Lockport are proud of their theater.  The Palace raised 100% of the necessary funds for their digital projection switchover completely within the community!

Their recently restored marquee is one of only two that are known to still include the SCHINE name.

THS Mourns the Passing of Greg Davis

It is with great sadness that THS has learned of the unexpected passing this morning of GREG DAVIS, our long time friend, mentor and Treasurer.

Greg’s association with THS goes back for decades.  He was Member of the Year in 1990 and in 2008 was honored with the President’s Award for his outstanding service to the organization.  But beyond that, Greg was a friend to all, a voice of reason and a true gentleman in every sense of the words.  He will be missed greatly, but his spirit will remain at the heart of THS.   Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Greg’s partner, Paul Ruksa.

Details are not yet known and we will post them as they become available.

Do you have a great photo of Greg to share?
Send them to Readerboard@historictheatres.org

MORE Lego Mania fun stuff!

Well we certainly opened a can of Legos with that last post!

Apparently, Lego is actually coming out with a Palace Cinema play set later this year according to ROB BENDER of the Friends of the Boyd Theater group (Philadelphia PA)

And why does Rob know so much about Lego theaters?  Because he is a master builder himself!  Rob also shared these Flickr links to his own creations:
